Here are few general assets used in communicating UX. Most information architects and user experience talent I’ve hired or worked with tend to invest a considerable amount of time in this process. I am an evangelist for a lean and agile UX process, keeping deliverables light, and getting to wires and development as quickly as possible.
Spending too much time in abstract design, dealing with intake and modeling, this can derail or explode a vision – as well as general motivation – more often than not. I prefer low-fidelity, rapid abstract work that quickly leads to a vision, and captures the imagination of everyone involved, including the stakeholders.
